“Heartless and Barbaric” -Anambra CP Condemns Horrific Kidnaping Of 3 Siblings In Awka After Viral Footage

The Anambra State Police Command has vehemently condemned a “heartless and barbaric” act of kidnapping, following the widespread circulation of a graphic video across social media platforms. The distressing footage depicts a tragic incident involving the abduction of a young boy and his two sisters within the State, which chillingly culminates in the suspected murder of the boy.

A statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Ikenga Tochukwu said, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD, has expressed profound sorrow over the incident, saying, “We condemn in the strongest possible terms this heartless and barbaric act.”

He further extended his deepest condolences to “the grieving family as well as the good people of Amansea,” where the incident is believed to have occurred.

In a decisive move, the Commissioner has ordered operatives of the State Intelligence Department (SID) to swiftly identify the surviving victim(s) to assist the police in their ongoing investigation.

The Command further urged members of the public to “remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative by providing credible information that will aid the swift arrest of the suspects.”

CP Orutugu reiterated the Command’s unwavering resolve to “remain firm in the fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes in the State.” He further assured that the Command “will continue to prioritise the protection of every citizen in line with our constitutional responsibility of safeguarding lives and property.”

“The public is encouraged to come forward with any information that could assist law enforcement in bringing the perpetrators to justice.”
