The Hidayah Entrepreneur, Humanitarian Empowerment Foundation and Tech Hub has launched its office in Osogbo, Osun State, with a mission to equip young people with technology and business skills.
The event, held on August 9, 2025, brought together stakeholders from various sectors to support the drive for youth empowerment and innovation.
Speaking with newsmen, Founder of the initiative, Dr. Hidayat Akanji Ogunlade, said the project is designed to help young people step out of their comfort zones, believe in themselves, and embrace innovation in a world increasingly driven by Artificial Intelligence.
She explained that the hub will provide training in areas such as IT, web development, UI/UX design and product management, with the goal of producing self-reliant, tech-savvy youths who can earn a living through digital skills.
Dr. Ogunlade expressed optimism that within a year, millions of young people in Osun and across Nigeria could become technology experts, building careers and creating jobs for themselves.
In his own remarks, Admin Manager of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Osun State branch, Dr. Yinka, called for stronger emphasis on vocational and entrepreneurial education.
He urged government to collaborate with the Hidayah initiative to equip students with practical skills, warning that academic excellence without such skills could leave graduates unprepared for the future.
Also speaking, Mr. Taofeek Ajibade described the hub as an inspiration to the younger generation, encouraging them to create jobs instead of waiting for formal employment.
He appealed to government to expand entrepreneurship programmes, especially for the less privileged, and to work closely with Hidayah to reach more youths.
Highlighting the foundation’s focus, Mr. Adeoye Samuel said its core values are educational mentorship, skill acquisition and technology development.
The event also featured a health session by medical expert Dr. Aminu, who spoke on diabetes-related eye diseases.
He identified poor insulin function and insulin resistance as common causes, and decried the low level of awareness about the condition.
Dr. Aminu advised regular eye check-ups at least twice a year, even for those without symptoms, to ensure early detection and treatment.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of awards, cash prize to the beneficiaries and medical checkup for the attendees.
