The HONOR Magic7 series is coming on October 30. As we’re waiting for that launch event, the company’s CEO gave everyone a first look at the Magic7 Pro flagship.
HONOR’s CEO provided us with a first look at the HONOR Magic7 Pro
Now, he did not exactly show us the entire design, We get to see the phone’s front side here, while the back is hidden by a protective case. If you check out the images below, you’ll see the device itself.
The device you can see is the Magic7 Pro, not the Magic7, which is also expected to arrive. Zhao Ming, HONOR’s CEO, attended a live broadcast event recently, during which he made the reveal.
You can clearly see that the phone will have a pill-shaped cutout at the top of the display. The HONOR Magic6 Pro had one too, though. We cannot see whether the display will be flat or curved because of the protective case, but it’s possible HONOR will go with a flat one this time around. It could have that micro-curved design on all sides but still be basically flat.
3D facial scanning is making a comeback
The corners will be quite rounded. That pill-shaped cutout on the front more or less guarantees that 3D facial scanning will be a part of the package. That worked great on the Magic6 Pro, so we see no reason for it not to make a comeback.
When it comes to the back side, we don’t really get a lot of information here. We can see some cutouts on the back. There are two camera cutouts, while three cameras are expected. This was probably done on purpose, though. The whole point of this case is to hide the design.
We can tell that a sizeable camera island will be included on the back, however. At least three cameras will be included on the back, as already mentioned, so this case is deceiving. The video of this interview is included below too.
He also talked about Huawei’s Kirin chips, briefly
Something else that HONOR’s CEO talked about, interestingly enough, are Huawei’s Kirin chips. He said that HONOR does not have plans to use Huawei’s Kirin chips. He said the following: “The possibility of using Kirin chips in the short term is not very high and I know everyone also hopes for such an opportunity”.
