Houston, Texas (KTRK) – The aftermath of a major accident delayed drivers Wednesday after leaving a large platform stretching across Eastern Freeway at Beltway 8, officials said.

Houston TransStar verified multiple vehicle crashes at 12:51 p.m. and 1:42 p.m. on major lanes in both directions on I-10 Eastbound at Beltway 8 East.
SkyEye video from the scene showed work crews removing what appeared to be a car carrier trailer from the highway.
It was not clear what caused the first accident, and there were no reports of any injuries.
Although the car carrier has since been removed from the highway, major lanes remain closed.
Authorities did not disclose how long travelers can expect delays.
