He was buried amidst tears on Monday, August 24th, with many of his industry colleagues in attendance.

The Senator, who was fond of the late actor, paid a condolence visit to his family at Taiwo’s family house in Ilaro.

During his speech, the governorship candidate said he planned to appoint Taiwo as his special adviser on Culture and Tourism, as a full cabinet member when he becomes Ogun State Governor.
After his visit, he took to one of his social media pages to pay tribute to Taiwo, noting how they stood by him and took responsibility for his medical bills.
“FAREWELL TO A BROTHER: OUR CONDOLENCE VISIT TO OGOGO’S FAMILY
Today, we paid a deeply emotional condolence visit to the family of our beloved brother and accomplished actor, Chief Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
His passing is particularly painful because throughout his health challenges, we stood by him and took responsibility for his medical bills, believing and praying that he would recover, regain his strength and remain with us for many more years. Sadly, Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom, decided otherwise.
We had also looked forward to having him serve as our Special Adviser on Culture and Tourism and a full-time member of our cabinet when, by the grace of God and the mandate of our people, we assumed office as Governor of Ogun State. We believed his experience and passion for our cultural heritage would have contributed immensely to our vision for the sector.
During the visit, his daughter, speaking on behalf of the entire family, emotionally expressed their appreciation for our support, kindness and commitment to their father throughout his health challenges.
We will miss our brother dearly. We pray that Almighty God grants Chief Taiwo Hassan eternal rest and gives his family, friends, colleagues and admirers the fortitude to bear this painful loss”.

During his sickness, he had personally reached out to top cancer specialists to help Ogogo. The veteran has been admitted to the operating theatre for treatment.
To honour Taiwo, Senator Yayi, had erected billboards in Ogun State.
Mr Latin, in a heartfelt note to Yayi, appreciated him for his love and support for late Taiwo during his illness. He noted how he was always ready to spend whatever was necessary and do everything within his power to keep him alive.
