Nollywood actor Lalude has opened up on his strained relationship with colleague, Sola Sobowale.
In an interview with Behind the Fame – African A-List, Lalude revealed that Sola did something that pained him one day at a show. According to him, he heard the famous actress was there and she knew he was around, but didn’t bother to come by.
Lalude also recalled how Ngozi introduced Sola Sobowale to him when she was trying to join acting. He claimed the light-skinned, award-winning actress isn’t wealthy, like she pretends to be.
“She did something that pained me one day, I was at Olayemi Olayinka’s show and I heard Shola Shobowale was there and she knew I was around also, but didn’t bother to come say hi, she’s not even older than me. Back then, when we were doing Uncle Jide Kosoko’s play ‘Ogun Awoyaya’ at the National Theatre, that was when Ngozi brought her to me and introduced her to me. She was trying to join acting, as much as I like, but what she did that day surprised me. Regardless of her living abroad, she’s not truly wealthy. We were there with Yinka, and she went to the stage and left without seeing me, that’s the only thing that pained me”.
In an interview, actor Olaiya Igwe expressed regret at disappointing gospel singer Tope Alabi and her husband, Soji Alabi. The controversial actor recounted how he disappointed the gospel singer and her husband on their wedding day by promising to lend them his car but didn’t keep his word. The veteran actor added that though he sought her forgiveness, he still deals with the guilt of disappointing her.
Early last year, actor Yemi My Lover opened up about his strained relationship with Tope Alabi. He recounted how Tope went the extra mile to get to him and how her mother entrusted her in his care. Unfortunately, their relationship has been a little strained.
In 2023, Lalude received a brand new car and N1 million after crying out for financial help on social media.
