Learning how to share audio on iPhone and iPad is very useful. If you and a friend want to watch a movie and you both hear the audio through your AirPods, for example, or you both want to listen to the same song, audio sharing is a great way to do that.
Apple’s Audio Share feature lets you quickly and simply share the sounds your iPhone or iPad is playing with nearby headphones. It’s the modern day equivalent when you and a friend share a pair of wired headphones on the bus.
However, there’s a catch: As you might expect with Apple — this only works with AirPods or Beats headphones. This means that both you and your friend have to use AirPods or Beats.
So, if you both have Apple headphones ready, here’s how to share audio on iPhone and iPad.
How to share audio on iPhone and iPad
1. When listening to audio through AirPods, Swipe down from the top right from the screen to open the Control Center. Click on the AirPods icon in the Now Playing box.
2. Click Share Audio.
3. Move the second set of Apple headphones (or the iPhone or iPad they’re connected to) closer to your iPhone. then Click Share Audio.
4. Tap the checkbox next to the second set of headphones To share audio and listen simultaneously.
5. Drag the volume sliders Sets the volume for each group of headphones separately.
And that’s all there is to it. If you’d like more tips on using your Apple gear, be sure to check out our awesome collection of tutorials.
