Dino Melaye, a former lawmaker of the National Assembly has said that several Nigerians have resorted to visiting garbage centres in search of food and crumbs due to the level of hunger in the nation.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, Melaye said the hardship in the country keeps getting worse on a daily basis.

According to Melaye, many Nigerians who seemed comfortable before now can no longer feed themselves or their households since the assumption of power by the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government.

He also mentioned that the growing hunger in the land is chartered as things have never been this bad before.

“We are in a precarious situation in this country, like we have never been. It has never been this disastrous, it has never been this terrible.

“The hunger in this country is chartered; people are dying of malnutrition in the rural communities of this country. People are beginning to visit garbage centres to look for crumbs and food,” Melaye said.

Further noting that the APC-led government is currently leading Nigeria on the wrong path, the former lawmaker said Nigerians have never experienced this kind of challenge before.
