Arsenal legend Ian Wright has thrown his support behind a potential Premier League return for Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman, Soccernet.ng reports.
The former England international has urged the Super Eagles winger to consider a switch to the Emirates Stadium from Atalanta BC.
The Nigerian attacker has been at the center of a transfer tussle between his camp and the Bergamo-based club, who are reluctant to sell him to their Serie A rivals, Inter Milan.
Ian Wright’s Comment on Lookman’s Transfer
As reported by MirrorFootball via their Instagram page, Wright showered praise on the Atalanta star and suggested that Lookman could play a crucial role in helping Arsenal win the Premier League title.
“I would love someone like him to come back to the Premier League and say, ‘Listen, I have unfinished business here, so I am going to help Arsenal win the league,’” Wright said.
The former Crystal Palace forward, popular for his passionate support of Arsenal and eye for talent, lauded Lookman’s career resurgence following stints in England with Charlton, Everton, Fulham, and Leicester.
“But I just admire his journey,” Wright continued. “And now he’s recognised rightly as a top player—unbelievable.”
Why Arsenal Should Chase Lookman
The 27-year-old enjoyed a standout campaign with Atalanta last two seasons, famously scoring a historic hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen to hand the Italian side their first European title.
His performances have attracted interest from several clubs, with Inter Milan keen but struggling to match Atalanta’s valuation.
Despite his success in Italy, Wright’s comments have fueled speculation that Lookman could make a sensational return to England – and potentially link up with Mikel Arteta’s title-chasing Arsenal squad.
Meanwhile, Soccernet.ng understands that the Nigerian winger is not keen on a return to England yet.
