Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay has corrected a narrative about most single mothers raising kids.
On her Instagram page, the mother of two made it known that despite her separation from her ex-husband, she isn’t a single mom. She explained that she is a single woman raising two kids.
“I’m not a single Mom.
I’m a single woman raising two kids”.
Refreshing your memory, in January last year, her legendary singer husband, 2baba, had announced his separation from her. He has since moved on from her with Edo-state lawmaker Natasha Osawaru.
At the Headies award, last year, Annie made headlines when she took a swipe at her ex-husband with her introduction. While presenting on stage, the mother of two made it known that she was no longer Annie Idibia but Annie Macaulay and announced to the world that she is single.
Since her separation from the singer, Annie has channelled her energy into her daughters.
At last year’s Headies Awards, Annie had declared her daughters her backbone.
The actress and her first daughter, Isabella, had recreated her popular scene from the Young, Famous and African show. In the clip, the mother of two was captured in a conversation with Fantana, as she vented over Swanky Jerry’s treatment of her and her then-husband, 2baba.
Annie was in tears as her second daughter, Olivia, freestyled a heartfelt song for her. The mother of two shared a video of Olivia freestyling for her, as she assured Annie that she would be with her till the end. Captioning the video, Annie gushed over her mini-me as she called her ‘her superstar’.
On Mother’s Day in March, Isabella, had described her as the best mother a girl could ever ask for. Wishing her a happy Mother’s Day, Isabella affirmed her undying love for her.
In a cryptic post, the popular actress had unburdened her heart, expressing hope that her daughter doesn’t accept things she accepted and that she knows her worth from the start and knows that no matter what, she always has her in her corner.
She had also threw shots at him, indirectly calling him a deadbeat father. She made a list of the great dads on her Instagram story, tagging Peter Okoye, Cole Peter and Andilen Cube and excluded him.
While celebrating the New Year, Annie reflected on her painful blessings in 2025, noting how 2025 had thrown her a lot, yet she remained standing.
In another post, the former Mrs Idibia, who shared photos of her outfit to AFRIMA, stated that she realised she has a beautiful life, a few hiccups here and there, but overall, she is blessed.
Recently, Annie had advised her fellow women who are in a position she once was in. She recommended a book to them, revealing that she had met parts of herself she had been protecting for a long time after reading it. Annie said the book is for women who have ever confused love with survival, stayed too long because their hearts were loyal, and needed permission to choose themselves without guilt.
On Valentine’s Day this year, she had shown off the luxury treatment she received from a mystery man. The former Mrs Idibia had gotten a mountain of flowers, Teddy bears and luxury items. She stated that the thoughts and the little things count for her, as she appreciated them for making her smile
In a previous post, she had revealed what she was looking for in her next relationship. The mother of two said she wanted a relationship where they both become hotter, healthier, happier, and wealthier together. She emphasized that she wants the little things.
