In an interview reported by SYMFONI TV, Baba-Ahmed said people often misinterpret his stance. “When individuals claim, oh, this person opposes the President, I do not oppose the President. I am not supporting any candidate,” he explained, adding that he initially believed Tinubu could improve the nation but stepped away after realizing otherwise.
He emphasized that his current role is to offer honest advice, even if it challenges political figures. Baba-Ahmed warned that genuine guidance is often unwelcome in politics but remains more valuable than mere ambition.
The politician also highlighted the need for opposition unity ahead of the 2027 elections, suggesting that credible coalitions, especially under platforms like the African Democratic Congress, will be key to mounting an effective challenge.
