Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen lauded the efforts of his teammates despite dropping two crucial points in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa at Recep Tayyip Erdogan Stadium on Sunday, Footynaija.com reports.

Osimhen continued his unstoppable goal-scoring form in the Turkish Super Lig, netting twice to take his domestic tally to 16 goals in 20 appearances. His first goal came from the penalty spot, converting from six yards after drawing the foul himself. He then completed his brace in the 71st minute courtesy of a sweet strike from distance.

Despite Osimhen’s best efforts, goals from Kasimpasa’s Mortadha Ben Ouannes, Josip Brekalo and Haris Hadradinovic ensured the Apaches left the game with a much deserved point. With the result, Galatasaray’s lead at the summit has been cut to just four as Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce close in on the Super Lig leaders.

Giving his take on the game following the final whistle, Osimhen insisted that he was proud of his teammates despite the disappointment of dropping crucial points.

“I would say disappointment. That’s the best way to put it. We fought against an effective opponent. I’m proud of my teammates for their efforts. Football is like that sometimes,” he said quoted by Galatasaray’s official website.
