Virgil van Dijk has reassured Liverpool fans that the Reds will continue to improve this season, even after making a perfect start in the Premier League, Soccernet.football reports.

With three wins from three games, new manager Arne Slot has enjoyed an ideal introduction to life at Anfield, guiding his side to victories without conceding a single goal.

Liverpool return to action today against Nottingham Forest at Anfield, where they will be looking to extend their flawless record.

Slot, who succeeded Jurgen Klopp this summer, has impressed early on, but remains adamant that there is still plenty of room for improvement.

His message of constant progress has resonated with his players, including captain Van Dijk, who echoed similar sentiments ahead of the Forest clash.

“To have taken nine points from three games, with seven goals scored and none conceded, and having played two of those three games away from home — including one at Old Trafford — means we are doing a lot of things right,” Van Dijk wrote in Liverpool’s official matchday programme.

“It gives us something to really build on going forward, but we also know that we are by no means the finished article yet. We can improve in every single aspect of the game.”

Despite the strong start, Van Dijk stressed that Liverpool must not become complacent, especially with a challenging schedule ahead.

“However good things look and feel, we must always be striving for more. I can assure you all that we will be doing exactly that.”

The Reds face a demanding few weeks, with the Champions League kicking off and a string of domestic fixtures ahead.

Van Dijk acknowledged the intensity of the upcoming period, stating, “We play seven times across the next three weeks, in three different competitions, so we know we will need each and every member of the squad to be ready for the big challenges to come.”

As Liverpool prepare to host Nottingham Forest, Van Dijk urged caution, recognizing the talent within their opponents.

“First up are Forest, a team with a lot of talent, particularly in attacking areas, and one we will certainly not be taking lightly. They have given us some difficult games over the past couple of years, so we know that we will need to be at our best if we are to continue our promising start to the season.”

With momentum building, Liverpool will aim to maintain their unbeaten record while continuing their quest for improvement.
