The Borno State House of Assembly member representing Magumeri LGA, Hon. Audu Mustapha has addressed a viral video of him crying.
Naijaonpoint reports that the lawmaker shed tears in a viral video on social media.
Speaking on the reason for his display of emotions in a press statement signed on his behalf by his Media Consultant, Babakura Bukar, Mustapha stated that they were rears of joy.
The lawmaker urged the public to disregard the media reports and videos circulating online.
He said he was happy over 100 people in his constituency, mostly vulnerable ones, took him by surprise and contributed money, to purchase Expression of Interest and nomination forms, and presented them to him.
“They urged him to recontest his seat come 2027, contrary to misleading information that he cried, begging for reelection back to the state Assembly,” the statement read.
He, therefore, re-emphasized that the reaction was not borne out of disappointment or grievance, but from deep appreciation of the trust and solidarity shown by the constituents.
He also noted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had not chosen candidates for elective positions, and has not concluded its primary process, “As such, no candidate has been imposed or denied ticket at this stage”.
He further urged the public to disregard claims being circulated on social media and rely only on verified information.
