Umo Eno1

Akwa-Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has clarified that his administration neither budgeted nor spent ₦18 billion on ‘happy hour’.

Naijaonpoint reports that Eno made this clarification on Friday, in response to questions during an interview on Arise Television.

The Governor also stated that the ‘Happy Hour’ statement was taken out of context, emphasising that it is not a time to get drunk.

He said, “My ‘happy hour’ statement was completely taken out of context. Happy Hour for me is finding time to relax after working hard.

“I didn’t say it was a time for everybody to get drunk or it would be a state-sponsored moment.

“Anytime you have an achievement and you celebrate, that’s happy hour. You have happy hour in church and everywhere.”

Meanwhile,  Eno has said that he can’t support President Bola Tinubu in the dark.

Eno stated this while shedding more light on the reason he left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking during an appearance on Arise Television on Friday, the governor vowed to openly support Tinubu.

According to Eno, he was convinced that Tinubu was doing well.
