Nigerian singer, Niniola Apata, has clarified rumours of secretly getting married.
Naijaonpoint reports that the clarification comes amid rumours that the ‘Maradona’ crooner’s absence from the spotlight was due to marriage.
However, in a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, Niniola debunked the speculation that she was keeping her marriage secret to avoid affecting her career or bookings.
The 38-year-old said she is not married, stressing that she is unbothered about what people say about her.
She said, “I don’t care whatever anyone does or says [regarding my personal life]. After all, I’m not a 12-year-old. I’m old enough to say whatever it is I want to say with my full chest. I’m not married.”
On why she is yet to collaborate with her younger sister, singer Teni, Niniola said it has to happen at the right time and under the right circumstances.
She emphasised that music is business, adding that there’s no family in business.
Recall that Ninola recently stirred fresh speculation among fans after she appeared in a video flaunting what looked like a heavy baby bump.
Naijaonpoint reports that the clip, shared on her Instagram page, quickly sparked mixed reactions online.
She captioned the video: “Lo Condom Lo Condom… You No Hear Word, Now You Done Get Belle New Music Loading.”
Her post left many of her followers debating whether she is truly expecting a child or simply teasing them with another creative project.
The development comes after her recent song Ginger Me went viral for its lyrics urging young people to use protection during intimacy to avoid unwanted pregnancies.
