In a Facebook video shared on Thursday February 13 2026, Dokubo said, “I don’t like Sheikh Ahmad Gumi at all; I keep saying it because you can’t justify evil.” He explained that his opposition is principled, not personal, and stems from Gumi’s perceived attempts to excuse or rationalize violent behavior.

Dokubo emphasized that religious leaders have great influence and must speak clearly against crime and violence. He warned that failing to condemn wrongdoing undermines public trust and makes insecurity harder to tackle.

Highlighting the rising threats of terrorism, banditry, and other violent crimes in Nigeria, Dokubo urged leaders across all faiths to provide consistent moral guidance. He reiterated that no status or position grants anyone the right to justify evil or create room for criminal behavior.
