Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington has shared how she narrowly escaped death in June while on a ministry trip with her husband, Banky W, and their children in the United Kingdom.

The actress explained through a post on Instagram on Sunday that she went through a frightening health challenge that led to an unplanned surgery during the trip.

She said the experience was one of the toughest moments of her life, adding that the surgery itself was not as scary as the situation that led to it.

According to her, the incident took place while they were in the UK for two speaking engagements in London and Manchester.

She reflected that if even a single event had gone differently that day, she might not have survived.

The actress expressed deep gratitude to God, saying she could trace His presence through every moment of the ordeal, Naijaonpoint reports.

She wrote: “Long read, but please stay with me. I could have lost my life in June of this year. I went through a horrific incident that landed me in unplanned surgery. The surgery was ironically the least dramatic part of what I went through. I was in the UK with my husband and sons (sons? I have two sons). We were there to serve God. We had two speaking engagements. One in London and the other in Manchester.

“If even one single detail of that day were different, I wouldn’t be here today. I shudder when I think about it… I have become even more aware of the goodness and presence of God. Like a map, I can literally look back over that day and trace how His hands were all over that situation. There is nothing anyone can tell me, God is real!

“Let’s be softer, kinder, gentler, forgiving, patient, loving, and peaceful. I will never take another day for granted. Neither should you.”

Adesua, who is known for her role in The Wedding Party, married singer and actor Banky W in 2017.

The couple currently have two sons Zaiah and Zekiah.
