British rapper and music producer Joseph Olaitan Adenuga junior, better known by his stage name Skepta, is singing the praises of Nigerian singer Portable.
In a series of tweets, he revealed that he has met many fake guys in the industry, but meeting Portable was refreshing. He stated that he recognizes whatever Portable does to stay relevant, which includes dropping daily snippets, jumping gates, walking the street with bank statements, and more.
He made it known that though he might not follow his tactics, he, however, knows Portable’s energy and recognizes it.
“I’ve met so many guys in the game, meeting Portable was refreshing.
Whatever Portable does I recognize? Dropping daily snippets, jumping gates, walking the street with bank statements. I may not do it myself, but I know that energy, and I respect it”.
Addressing a fan who said Portable was going to turn against him, he said street recognizes street.
“Some of you people’s tweets are like a broken record.
Street guy sabi street guy”.
Just a day back, Portable, had appreciated Skepta, as he revealed that he got credited with a huge amount of money as part of his royalties from their hit song, Tony Montana. He praised the British rapper for not ripping him as he expressed gratitude to him.
Kemi Filani reported in December, 2023, that Portable formed an alias with British rapper, Skepta and they attended the British Fashion Award in London. He had even run into Tiwa Savãge and Damson Idris at the event.
Following the link up, Portable announced that he now charges 10k in dollars for featuring in both shows, music videos, and skits, noting how he is a child of grace.
Since his entrance into the industry, there is no doubt that the singer carries a unique grace despite his series of controversies.
In 2023, Portable received an award from the United States as the best new act of the year. Appreciating the organizers of the award, he stated that receiving such recognition is proof that he is doing something right.
In February, last year, the controversial singer was left overwhelmed after getting recognized by American rapper, Rick Ross. The award-winning artist had via his social media page given a shout-out to African artists for their contribution to the industry and had mentioned Portable’s name, which left the singer overjoyed.
In June of that year, he had linked up with rapper, Phyno. In a photo captured online, Portable was seen in a warm embrace with the award-winning rapper.
He had also linked up with Tiwa Savãge, who he declared as his mother, the Ogbanje of Africa, and crowned her the number one of Africa. He further dissed those shading him as he stated that he and Tiwa are the ones who have blown, and are reigning now.
