The Director of Mobilisation of the Obidient Movement, Morris Monye, has revealed in an exclusive interview with THE WHISTLER that he has no immediate plans to enter politics, despite his deep engagement with leadership development.
The good governance advocate who was a graduate of the School of Politics, Policy, and Governance (SPPG), emphasised the importance of working within the system to drive meaningful change.
“Some of us want to vie for office, serve in government, and just be part of the system. You cannot change the system from being outside. You have to be part of the system.
“You can’t allow criminals to do it because whatever they do, you have to take it like that,” Monye said.
He further described SPPG as a vital platform for equipping young leaders with the skills needed for effective governance, calling it “a learning curve” for those who want to know how to govern properly.
While he remains passionate about promoting credible leadership, Monye was clear about his current stance on a political career, saying, “I don’t have any plans yet.”
Instead, he added that he would focuse on inspiring young Nigerians to participate in the political process with integrity and credibility.
“We encourage young people to come out and huddle [in the] process,” Monye added.
