Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe has sympathised with her colleague, Faithia Williams, following the burial of her mother.
Kemi Filani reported last month the Yoruba actress lost her mother on the eve of her 55th birthday party. She said the reality of her passing hasn’t fully sunk in because she was her cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend, and gist partner.
On Saturday, March 7th, the actress’s mother was finally laid to rest on Saturday, March 7th, with a few of her colleagues in attendance.
Sharing a video of her consoling Faithia at the burial, Aigbe noted that she walked down a similar path herself and understands how painful it is.
She made the actress know that she is always in her heart and in her prayers, and asserted that mothers are truly a gift that never stops being missed.
“Today I stood beside my Big Sis @faithiawilliams as she laid her beloved mother to rest.
Having recently walked this painful path myself, I know how heavy this moment is.
May God grant her mum eternal rest and give you and your family the strength to carry on.
You are always in my heart and prayers.
Mothers are truly a gift we never stop missing.

Recall that in September, 2024 Aigbe, had lost her mother, Mrs Abisola Grace Owodunni. She made the sad news known on her Instagram page with a candlelight photo and a caption, “RIP mum”.
In an appreciation post, she thanked the public for their DMs, comments, prayers, support and show of love during their difficult time. She expressed how grateful she was.
In an heartbreaking post, she, said planning the burial of a loved one was so emotionally and mentally draining. She expressed how saddening it was visiting cemeteries, looking at vaults, and checking coffins. Crying out to God, she said she can’t even explain the feeling.
Following her mother’s death, in November, that the actress, finally laid her to rest and threw a grand party to celebrate her life well spent.
As expected, the Nollywood industry came out in large numbers to support her. Present at the event were the fourth wife of the Ooni of Ife, Olori Ashley; former House of Representatives member Abike Dabiri; and other notable figures.
The stars at the party were Iyabo Ojo, Toyin Abraham, Kiekie, Aisha Lawal, Odunlade Adekola, Mide Martins and husband Afeez Owo, Eniola Ajao, Faithia Williams, Omowunmi Dada, Eniola Badmus, Nkechi Blessing, Femi Adebayo, Saidi Balogun, Foluke Daramola, Sikiratu Sindodo, Bakare Zainab, Omowunmi Ajiboye, Seyi Edun, Kemi Korede, Laide Bakare, Bimbo Thomas, Israel DMW, and more.
Days before her burial, Aigbe mother’s burial, Aigbe had written a note to the deceased, praying that God give them the strength to walk through this difficult time. She stated that her heart was full of memories, noting how her late mother was a blessing, a quiet light, and a gentle guide.
