Speaking at an event in Ibadan, Makinde praised Osinbajo’s role as Chairman of the National Economic Council, crediting his guidance for key decisions like avoiding a full COVID-19 lockdown in Oyo State.

Makinde lamented the current government’s less inclusive approach, especially on critical issues like the tax reform bills, where governors’ concerns are ignored. “You cannot speak truth to power now,” he said, contrasting sharply with Osinbajo’s era.
