Mavin Records founder, Collins Ajereh, popularly Don Jazzy, has opened up about the personal cost of building his career in the music industry.

Naijaonpoint reports that the award-winning producer, who has guided the success of stars like Tiwa Savage, Rema, and Ayra Starr, admitted that marriage is the one part of life he never thought he would miss out on.

Speaking on the Echo Podcast, the 42-year-old shared that he did not imagine he would reach his forties unmarried.

He said that while he is open to the idea, he is also content with his life as it is.

He explained that if marriage comes his way, he will accept it, but if not, he has no regrets.

“I never thought I would be 40-something and not be married. Maybe that’s the one I lost. If it comes, it comes. If it doesn’t, I’m totally fine,” he admitted

Reflecting on alternative paths, Don Jazzy revealed that even if he had not become a music executive, he would most likely still have pursued a career in music or excelled as an influencer.

The music executive was once married in his early twenties before fame.

He tied the knot with model and writer Michelle Jackson in London in 2003.

The marriage ended two years later, with Don Jazzy later attributing the split to his devotion to music and the demands of his career.
