Former Big Brother Naija housemate Eriata Ese, has cleared the air on her recent comment about marriage that stirred reactions online.
Naijaonpoint reports that the reality tv star had earlier responded to a critic who questioned her for flaunting a baby bump without being married, saying marriage was not a flex.
The statement quickly drew attention, with many questioning her views about family life.
In a fresh update shared on her Instagram story, Eriata explained that she would never make such a statement in a serious discussion.
She said she grew up in a loving home where she understood the value of family, adding that she considers marriage and healthy relationships a blessing.
She further stated that only someone with negative experiences would dismiss marriage as unimportant.
Eriata also revealed that her earlier comment was not meant to be taken seriously, saying that she was simply engaging her followers as she usually does.
She wrote: “Please ignore bloggers. I would never say “marriage is not a flex” in a serious conversation. I grew up in a loving home and know how important family is. If you know and follow me, you’ll always see I have the tag lover girl in some of my posts.
“I’m not trying to explain, I just want to correct the narrative that is being passed about me because I know how people believe anything they see on these blogs. Only a damaged person will say a good marriage is not a flex. I know how exciting it feels to be in a healthy relationship, it’s like a dream come true coming home to someone who doesn’t joke about you”.
