Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Venita Akpofure, has mourned the death of her cousin and childhood god-sister, Somtochukwu Maduagwu, who worked as a television anchor with Arise TV.

Naijaonpoint reports that the 29-year-old journalist lost her life on Monday during a robbery at her home in Katampe, Abuja.

Reports said she fell from the balcony of her third-floor apartment while the incident was ongoing.

Venita, who shared her grief on social media, recalled caring for Somtochukwu as a child and expressed the pain of losing her suddenly.

She also reshared an old post in which the late anchor had openly shown her love and support during her time in the Big Brother Naija house.

She wrote: “I can’t do this. I’ve been crying so badly. Sommie is my cousin/Godsister. I babysat her from childhood ❤️.”

Friends, fans, and colleagues have since been sending condolence messages, offering prayers for the family.

In other news, the last tweets of Arise TV anchor, Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, have surfaced.

Naijaonpoint reports that the 29-year-old media personality was killed in Katampe area of Abuja on Monday, September 29, after armed robbers attacked her home.

In one of her posts in August, she prayed that Nigeria would never happen to her or anyone she cared about.
