Human rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has urged Nigerians to acknowledge and support the efforts of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over the ongoing construction of the Apo–Karshi Road in Abuja.

Naijaonpoint reports that the Apo–Karshi Road is a major transport corridor linking parts of the Federal Capital Territory with Nasarawa State. When completed, the road is expected to ease traffic congestion and significantly improve accessibility for residents and commuters plying the route.

Adeyanju recalled the long-standing challenges associated with the road project and said Wike’s determination to see it completed deserved public commendation.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the activist, who is known as a vocal critic of the former Rivers State governor, said the pace and quality of work currently ongoing on the road were impressive.

Even as a consistent critic of Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, I must sincerely commend him for the remarkable speed and level of work currently ongoing on the Apo–Karshi Road,” Adeyanju said.

He noted that the road had remained under construction for several years with little visible progress until recently.

“That road has been under construction for years with little progress, and the pace of work now is both visible and commendable. Credit should be given where it is due,” he added.
