Nigerian media personality Toke Makinwa is reflecting on her trials as she prepares to become a first-time mum.

On the latest episode of her podcast, Toke Moments, she revealed that she prayed to God that she wanted to turn 40 being a mum. She said that when she clocked 40 in November last year, God granted her desire, and she became pregnant in December.

Toke noted how God didn’t fail her, and she stated that it is never too late. The media personality also corrected a popular misconception about her and men, and made it known that she doesn’t hate men.

She further revealed that she launched her beauty brand, Toke Makinwa Beauty, when she was depressed, but people didn’t know.

“There is this popular belief that I bash and h@te men. It’s not true. I launched TM Beauty when I was so depressed, but people didn’t know. I prayed to God that I wanted to turn 40 being a mum. I clocked 40 in November, and God did the pregnancy in December. God didn’t fail me. He is never late”.

In an episode on her podcast, earlier this year, Toke said she is ready to settle down as a second, third or fourth wife.

In a previous episode, Toke spoke about being single and childless at 40. She admitted that if she had gotten married for a second time, she would have divorced as she noted how the lessons never ended. The media personality stated that despite being single and childless at 40, she doesn’t allow herself to wallow in pity.

Recall that, Toke was once married to fitness expert, Maje Ayinde but the marriage crashed in 2016, after two years on the grounds of adultery.

Opening up on her failed marriage, she noted how she was blamed for her marriage failure even though her ex-husband fathered a child with another woman. She said people had different versions of what they thought her marriage was, which left her traumatized as she was the victim.

Last year, Toke had replied to a troll who mocked her for being unmarried. The troll identified had stated that the media personality had passed the single era and was now in her unmarried era. Toke reacted, declaring that God would do hers for her and that her troll would be alive to congratulate her.

The media personality, had addressed a wrong narrative about her regarding men and marriage. The divorcee noted how people think she hates men or is a man basher, which is wrong, as she loves marriage and being married. Toke stated that she greatly advocates marriage because 2 is better than 1.
