Honourable Mohammed Omadefu a member representing entire Keana local government area of Nasarawa State who also double as majority leader in the hallow chamber of the State’s House Assembly has revealed revolutions that led to his denial of APC ticket in the recent party’s primaries held in May 2026.
The Majority leader who had earlier announced his defection to Social Democratic Party (SDP), on Monday 13th 2026 during a plenary session at Assembly complex said that his decision to dump the APC was as a result of the ill treatment meted on him during the party’s primaries conducted recently where he declared a winner and his mandate was turned down.
The former majority leader who address journalists in his house in Lafia the state capital, narrated that at the primaries election was conducted by APC officials, where he polled 7, 868 votes as against his opponent who got 2,000 votes but he was denied the Ticket.
Mohammed Omadefu lamented that he was denied an entrance to the Government House because the All Progressive Congress APC led by Aliyu Bello were not ready to gave him APC ticket.
According to majority leader,” The election was done in the presence of all the APC stakeholders and party’s officials, and election was conducted and I came out victorious. Coming to Lafia to submit the results at the collation center, that was where because of interest, I, the sitting member, was denied access to the Government House.
” I was stopped at the gate, and later they told me that, “Sorry, another person’s name has been declared. We came prepared for the primary election of the party and I saw the signal at far, I saw it from all angles, that they were not really ready to align with me.
“And I have been loyal, right from time. Very patriotic, and I have been serving the party and the government the ruling party and the government. And I’m doing that because I’m a true son of my father,” he said.
He also recalled that the governor once told him that his stakeholders were not supporting him to continue on his mandate come 2027.
The former majority leader appealed to the Nasarawa State citizens to vote SDP added that the party was coming to salvage Nasarawa State.
