As Nigeria celebrates its Independence Day today, October 1st, Nollywood actress Adaora Ukoh has issued a public service announcement.
Taking to her Instagram page, she admonished her fans and followers not to wish her Happy Independence. She promised to block anyone who fails to hearken to her instruction as she wished her fans a happy new month.
“Pls, no matter what you do in Life, please do not send me Happy Independence 2moro, I beg you. I will block whoever does so. Please, Happy New Month will do.

Adaora Ukoh asking her fans not to wish her happy independence isn’t surprising as the economic has been going downhill since the President came into office.
Last month, actress, Destiny Etiko had lamented over the increase in fuel prices as she questioned what was going on in the country. She expressed how she thought the protest was to help salvage the economic hardship in the country.
Similarly, Lizzy Gold noted how the price of new petrol pump was now N1000 for a litre and foodstuffs in the market are extremely expensive. Questioning how people were surviving, she appealed to the President to do something as she noted how the citizens look up to him.
Yoruba actor Saidi Balogun had questioned if there was no functional price control or price regulatory agency in Nigeria. He further questioned how they can cushion the effects of inflation, as he noted how things are getting out of hand.
In August, the ex-wife of billionaire businessman Musa Danjuma, Caroline Danjuma, lamented over the exorbitant prices of foodstuff as she visited the market. Sharing her market plight, she questioned how Nigerians are coping.
Similarly, Nkechi Blessing had lamented after spending N150k on a few foodstuffs at Sunday market in Ogba. She questioned what was the way forward, as she noted how Nigerians aren’t complaining about the economy anymore.
Yoruba actress, Yewande Adekola Abiodun had also lamented bitterly over the price of a bag of Garri, which is being sold for N80,000. She noted how Garri used to be a poor man’s food, but now, it has become expensive.
