Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has broken her silence following her release from detention.
The movie star was released from Suleja Correctional Centre in Niger State and was later rearrested by men of the FCT police command on February 3rd.
According to reports, she was picked up and whisked to the FCT Police Command headquarters over a petition filed against her.
Actress, Doris Ogala, released a video alleging that Angela’s re-arrest stemmed from unpaid legal fees to an unnamed Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, who has helped secure her bail in the cyberbullying case against her colleague, Mercy Johnson.
On Tuesday evening, the police command granted her bail, and she is expected to be at the FCT police headquarters today, February 4th.
However, the famous star denied reports she was rearrested.
Taking to her Instagram story, Angela assured her fans and families that she will speak to them. She appreciated those who showed her love and prayed for them.
“I will speak to my fans and families tomorrow!!

Thank you”.
Last year, news made rounds that Mercy, had filed a petition against Angela. According to reports, sources claim the petition stems from repeated online attacks by Okorie on Mercy, including unverified allegations in June accusing Johnson of “spiritual wrongdoing”.
Movie producer Stanley Ontop added fuel to the fire by suggesting Johnson collaborated with high-profile figures to initiate a legal crackdown.
In an Instagram live, Angela, however, set the record straight, making it known that she wasn’t arrested. The actress revealed that she was invited for questioning and went there.
For years, Angela has launched attacks on Mercy Johnson over undisclosed reasons.
Resuming her beef with her last year, Okorie, in an Instagram live, said she had forgiven the mother of four because she learnt she was seriously sick. Angela, however, advised Johnson to seek forgiveness from people she had wronged and should stop using church words that don’t represent her.
Debunking her claims via her Instagram story, Regina Daniels stated that Angela was mad as she admonished Mercy not to forgive.
In 2024, Angela had dragged Mercy Johnson, accusing her and her mother of being witches. She later went on an Instagram Live session with Mercy Johnson’s former best friend, who called her out for witchcraft and alleged that her late mother was the mastermind. The lady claimed Mercy was aware of the deaths happening in Nollywood and locked the destinies of the famous music group Style Plus and her colleagues.
