Manager of EFL Championship side Birmingham City FC, Chris Davies, says Ghana winger Ibrahim Osman’s biggest asset is his speed which will be needed as the club chases promotion to the English Premier League.
He said this while talking about the Black Stars player’s recent loan move from Brighton and Hove Albion to the club after spending the first part of the season at AJ Auxerre.
Osman’s deal with Birmingham runs till the end of the season and marks his third loan stint since signing for Brighton from FC Nordsjaelland. Osman has had loan stints at Feyenoord and Auxerre and Davies is counting on him to produce for Birmingham.
“It was his pace and his ability to go one v one and be an outlet for the team [that got us attracted]…his team asset would be his key.”
“We’ve played with two wingers and they are an important outlet for us and creativity-wise, we need them to go past people, get crosses in and then get in the back post to score. Hopefully, he can do all that” Davies said.
Birmingham City rank 13th in the 24 team league standings ahead of their game against Stoke City on Saturday, January 24.
