Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe (Moyosore Ogunlewe), the executive chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area in Lagos State is under probe by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over alleged billion naira fraud.
According to report by SaharaReporters, the ICPC has also interrogated several council supervisors, including Olorunfunmi Timothy Adekunle (Environment), Elugbidin Abayomi Benjamin (Health), Saka Kehinde Ademolu (Agriculture), David Gbenga Samuel (Chieftaincy Affairs), Tajudeen Adedayo Lawal (Education), and Odunbamise Jonathan.
Sources revealed that the council officials were invited last week following a petition filed by Ganiyu Olamiji Oyebanjo, the Special Adviser on Boundary Matters at Kosofe Local Government.
The officials were questioned for several hours at the ICPC office on Okotie Eboh Street, Ikoyi, Lagos, before being handed over to their lawyers and instructed to return for further questioning.
The petition alleged that the officials were involved in corruption, embezzlement, and contract inflation, amounting to billions of naira.
Oyebanjo, who confirmed submitting the petition despite being an executive member of the council, said the investigation stemmed from his submission on October 23, 2024. He provided the ICPC with classified documents detailing alleged corruption, unlawful enrichment, and contract manipulations under Ogunlewe’s leadership.
Oyebanjo called for an investigation into the chairman’s assets and their growth since he assumed office.
He added that, after his own interrogation at the ICPC office in February 2025, Ogunlewe and the council’s secretary, Fatai Gbadebo, were also questioned.
However, Oyebanjo expressed concern that some key council executive members have failed to honor their summons, which he believes is critical to understanding the full extent of the alleged malfeasance.
He further alleged that Moyosore Ogunlewe had been attempting to prevent the investigation by offering money to staff to provide false statements.
Attempts to reach Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe for comment were unsuccessful.
