The identities of the six directors from the Federal Ministry of Defence who were kidnapped by gunmen have been revealed.
They were abducted along the Kabba-Lokoja highway on November 10, 2025, while they were traveling from Lagos to Abuja for a Directorate-level promotion exam.
Naijaonpoint reports that the incident has caused alarm among government workers and raised concerns over the safety of public servants on long journeys.
The directors have been identified as Mrs. Ngozi Ibeziakor, Mrs. C. Emeribe, Mrs. Helen Ezeakor, Mrs. C. Ladoye, Mrs. J. Onwuzurike, and Mrs. Catherine Essien.
They are senior staff members of Command Day Secondary School, Ojo, Lagos.
The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) described the abduction as shocking and stated that efforts are underway to secure the safe release of the victims.
Security operatives from the Defence Ministry have been mobilized to rescue the directors.
In a statement, the ASCSN President, Shehu Mohammed, and the Secretary-General, Joshua Apebo, the association said:
“We have always advised the Federal Civil Service Commission to conduct promotion examinations in the states instead of compelling public service employees to travel long distances to Abuja. The current security situation and deplorable road conditions expose workers to grave risks.”
