The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has warned applicants participating in its ongoing recruitment exercise to be wary of fraudulent individuals and unauthorized platforms demanding payment or personal information under the guise of facilitating employment.
In a statement issued on Monday, October 20, 2025, and signed by Okeh Juliet, Head of Press and Public Relations, the Board reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent, fair, and merit-based recruitment process at no financial cost to applicants. It emphasized that the entire recruitment procedure remains completely free, stressing that candidates should not pay any fee, disclose personal banking details, or offer any form of gratification in exchange for placement.
According to the Board, the CDCFIB remains firmly dedicated to upholding integrity, fairness, and accountability at every stage of the recruitment process, ensuring that only qualified candidates are selected based on merit. It described the ongoing exercise as part of its mandate to strengthen Nigeria’s paramilitary institutions, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigerian Correctional Service, the Federal Fire Service, and the Nigerian Immigration Service.
The Board further cautioned candidates to rely solely on official CDCFIB communication channels for authentic information and updates concerning the next phases of the recruitment process, which will be announced soon. It warned against engaging with unverified websites, fake social media pages, or self-proclaimed agents who exploit job seekers by offering false assurances of employment or preferential treatment in exchange for money.
Reiterating its zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and malpractice, the CDCFIB assured applicants that every stage of the recruitment would be conducted with transparency and professionalism. The statement described any form of solicitation, bribery, or financial transaction as a violation of the recruitment policy and an invitation to legal consequences. It added that the Board’s mission is to attract the best-qualified candidates into the nation’s paramilitary services while protecting applicants from scams and fraudulent schemes.
Applicants were urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious requests for payment or personal data to law enforcement agencies for prompt investigation. The CDCFIB maintained that public service recruitment is a public trust that must be managed with transparency, equity, and accountability, assuring Nigerians that the process will reflect these values.
The statement concluded with a reminder for all candidates to stay informed through official channels, avoid misinformation, and disregard anyone claiming to have influence or access to recruitment slots. The Board restated that it has not authorized any individual or organization to collect money or act as intermediary in the recruitment exercise.
