In a Facebook video shared on Thursday February 13 2026, Dokubo said, “If you go to a mosque and talk about elections, malams will say they don’t want politics.” He explained that many religious leaders deliberately avoid political discussions in places of worship, often discouraging congregants from engaging in civic debates.
According to him, this approach can limit political awareness and reduce active participation, as religious authorities heavily shape opinions and influence decisions. Dokubo stressed that politics cannot be removed from daily life, and citizens must stay informed regardless of religious guidance.
He urged Nigerians to remain politically conscious, participate responsibly in elections, and balance faith with civic engagement. Dokubo emphasized that being informed does not compromise religious principles but strengthens communities’ ability to make independent decisions.
