Victor Osimhen says he will “remember this season for the rest of [his] life” after scoring twice in Galatasaray’s 4-1 demolition of Sivasspor, a performance that saw him surpass his career-best goal tally, Footynaija.com reports.

The Nigeria international, on loan from Napoli, has now scored 33 goals in all competitions for Galatasaray, including 24 in the Turkish Super Lig – eclipsing the 31-goal mark he set during Napoli’s 2022–23 campaign.

“It was important to break my record in my first season,” Osimhen told Galatasaray’s official website.

I am at one of the most important clubs in the world. The biggest club in Turkiye.

“I would like to thank my family and friends for helping me. I would like to thank the technical team and the club staff. They never left me alone. This season is a memory that I will remember for the rest of my life.”
Osimhen has now been directly involved in 41 goals (33 goals, 8 assists) in 37 appearances, a key figure in Galatasaray’s push for a third straight Super Lig title. Okan Buruk’s side sit eight points clear of Fenerbahce with four games to go.

More than his goal tally, Osimhen underlined his commitment to the team’s success: “Apart from goals and assists, I like to help the team. I want to get the ball in the future, help the midfield, do my best for the team. The team comes first for me.

“When I convert opportunities into goals, it makes me happy. The important thing is not Victor Osimhen, but the team. Roland is also very important. We can say the same thing for Mario, Torreira and Sanchez.”

With just two goals more, Osimhen could become Galatasaray’s all-time top-scoring foreign player in a single season — a feat that would also make Turkish football history.
