The Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, Ossai Ovie Success, has expressed disappointment over the mockery against the Lead Pastor of Streams of Joy International, Pastor Jerry Eze, after a video of him praying for late Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo, emerged online.
Naijaonpoint recalls that in the wake of Alex Ekubo’s death, Pastor Jerry came under heavy online attack when a video of him praying for the late movie star became a viral sensation online.
Pastor Jerry was mocked over his failure to heal Alex, who had a protracted battle with kidney cancer before his demise.
Reacting, Ossai, in a post on his official Facebook page, insisted that God still performs healing miracles among believers, warning critics not to laugh their way to self-destruction.
He wrote, “I’m disappointed in those mocking Pastor Jerry Eze for praying for Alex Ekubo, just because he still died of cancer.
“Whether you like it or not, God is still in the business of healing and miracles.
“Don’t laugh your way to self-destruction.
“The fact that Alex was prayed for doesn’t mean he couldn’t die. God knows what is best”.
Meanwhile, controversial relationship expert, Blessing Okoro, better known as Blessing CEO, has slammed social media critics asking God to take her life in exchange for Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo.
Naijaonpoint recalls that Alex died on May 11, 2026, after battling complications linked to advanced metastatic kidney cancer.
Following the development, some netizens stormed Blessing CEO’s Instagram comment to troll her, suggesting that God should have taken her life instead of Ekubo’s.
Reacting, Blessing in a video shared via her social media page, strongly condemned netizens publicly wishing for her death following Alex Ekubo’s demise.
She questioned the selective empathy of the public, wondering why many Nigerians aggressively bully the living while saving their compassion exclusively for the dead.
