IND vs AUS: Steve Smith opened the secret, how did he capture the ODI series despite being behind?

The Australian team had lost the Border Gavaskar Trophy by 1-2 but in the ODI series, they showed an amazing game. Even after trailing 0-1, the visiting team managed to win the ODI series 2-1.

New Delhi. The Australian team avenged the defeat in the Test series in the ODI series. Smith’s bat himself did not work in this series but his team’s magic worked well. India defeated Australia in Mumbai ODI. After this, the visiting team won the decider first in Visakhapatnam and then in Chennai. Smith says that his team did not perform at its best but still managed to win.

Smith told the reason for the victory

Smith said after the team’s victory, ‘This tour of India was fun. We didn’t play our best but what we did then was enough to win the series. This wicket was totally different. We made some mistakes in batting but the spinners played brilliantly. He kept taking wickets continuously, due to which the pressure on Team India remained. The way the tail batsmen took the score to 269 in the last over was excellent. This was the turning point of the match because we did not expect this score. The Indian team’s target of 270 proved to be too much and it was reduced to a score of 248.

Smith flopped with the bat

The ODI series was not good for Smith as a batsman. He scored 22 runs in the first match. He did not get a chance to bat in the second ODI, while in the last ODI he could not even open the account. Talk about the Test series, there too he could not cross the 40 mark even once in seven innings.
