Indiana Jones & The Great Circle Gets Major FREE Update

great circle anniversary update cairo outfit

It’s been ten months since Indiana Jones and the Great Circle launched, but the journey isn’t over quite yet. Following the recent release of the Order of Giants DLC, developer MachineGames has now announced a free update in celebration of the studio’s 15th anniversary.

On October 10, the MachineGames Anniversary Update will add several major features to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, as revealed in a trailer available on the official Bethesda Softworks YouTube channel. Changes include a New Game+ mode, a Cairo outfit for Indy, and the option to select voice language separately from text language. Full patch notes, including more minor changes, can be found on Bethesda’s website.

The Great Circle’s Anniversary Update Has Several Key Additions

New Game+ And Much More

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle‘s New Game+ mode allows Indy to keep all of his upgrades in a second playthrough of the game, making his trials quite a bit less harrowing. In the blog post, MachineGames recommends increasing the difficulty to maintain balance. Completing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle in New Game+ will unlock a new ending sequence after the credits roll — hopefully, we can get another sequel tease.

While alternate outfits in the original game were locked behind pre-order and edition bonuses, the Cairo suit will bring an additional outfit to all players. Modeled after Indy’s jacketless look in Raiders of the Lost Ark, the new suit is a more natural fit for the Giza portion of the game.

Like previous updates for The Great Circle, the MachineGames anniversary update also comes with fixes for various bugs. Xbox Series X and S will also receive a Power Saving mode to reduce GPU usage when the game is left idle, and the upcoming Xbox ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X will have automatically optimized video quality settings.

Indiana Jones & The Great Circle Keeps On Giving

A Great Experience Is Even Better

A glowing artifact in the Order of Giants DLC for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was my favorite AAA game of 2024, and it just keeps getting better. The Order of Giants wasn’t as substantial as some fans anticipated, but I had a lot of fun with the DLC, which reminded me of just how much I loved the game to begin with.

I’m not much of a New Game+ person, so the MachineGames Anniversary Update inclusions aren’t going to draw me back into the game right now. All the same, it’s nice to see continued support for a fantastic Indy experience, and I’m increasingly hopeful that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will eventually get a sequel.
