The former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has stated that the President Bola Tinubu government is not pushing the Nigerian military to fight gallantly.

Speaking on Tuesday while unveiling the new 2000 Neighbourhood Security Network by the Government of Kano, Kwankwaso submitted that the incumbent government lacks the will to fight insecurity.

He maintained that the military has fought in several global wars, like Darfur and Liberia, adding that they are the best that have fought across the globe.

He said, “President Tinubu should rise to the occasion and answer his Commander In Chief name to tackle the problems of insecurity.”

He lamented that many Nigerians are being killed innocently and their killers get away with their atrocities as if nothing happened.

The Government must apologise to Nigerians for their laxity in the fight against insecurity”.

“When I was Defence Minister, I knew the strength of the Nigerian Military. They are courageous, we need some semblance of Political Wills to make them do the needful”

“Historically, the Nigerian Military were the best that served across the globe, and not only did well but came out with flying colours as the best. President Tinubu should rise to the occasion and equip them with all they required to change the narratives,” he said.

Kwankwaso explained that should he become the President of the Nation come 2027, he will ensure the recruitment of over one million military personnel.

He said, any government that fails to protect lives and properties, that government have woefully failed and has no business being in government.
