In celebration of International Men’s Day, Nigerian comedian Bovi has written a note to men who have tried to transition to a different gender.
The comedian, via his Instagram page, stated that he doesn’t play them, noting that being a man isn’t a day’s work.
Wishing himself a happy International Men’s Day, he said he is happy to pay rent, pay school fees, provide food and clothing, solve people’s problems, and endure hardships like he doesn’t have, grinding when broken, smiling when hurt, breathing while dying, and winning despite distractions.
“Dear men who tried to switch their gender, I don’t blame you all. Happy International Men’s Day to me for paying rent, paying school fees, providing food and clothing, solving people’s problems like I don’t have, grinding when broken, smiling when hurt, breathing while dying, and winning despite distractions. Truly, to be a man is not a day’s job”.
Some months ago, the award-winning comedian had written a note to himself, revealing that he had tried resisting temptation, but temptation refused to resist him. Bovi said society shaped him, and noted how he is half body, half spirit, a hybrid of good and evil and a blend of pain and pleasure.
Earlier this year, Bovi detailed how he survived a spiritual attack, from two powerful enemies. He disclosed that he thought he could go through life without having enemies, but he learned the hard way.
In other news, the father of three had reacted to a viral video of a Catholic Priest knocking one of his altar boys. He expressed how livid and miffed he was at the rate at which most forms of abuse go unchecked in Nigeria. Raising questions at the priest, the comedian avowed that knocking a child in the head unprovoked is a violent and criminal act.
