Inuwa Yahaya mourns renowned Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Giro Argungu

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has described the demise of a renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu as a great loss not only to the Muslim Ummah but also to the entire Northern region and Nigeria as a whole.

Inuwa Yahayab who is the Chairman of Northern Governors’ Forum said he received with deep sadness and a heavy heart the news of the passing of a renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu who died on Wednesday after a brief illness.

Inuwa Yahaya said the late Sheikh Argungu was a distinguished scholar and exemplary leader who devoted his life to the propagation of the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ( SAW).

According to him, “Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu’s life was a shining example of commitment to the teachings of Islam and the promotion of peace and harmony.”

“His contributions to Islamic scholarship have left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of many, and his legacy will continue to inspire the Ummah and generations to come,” he added.

The Governor, on behalf of the Government and people of Gombe State, conveyed his deepest condolences to the immediate family of the deceased prominent scholar.

The Northern Governors’ Forum Chairman also extended his heartfelt commiserations to the leadership of the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah wa Iqamatissunnah, JIBWIS where Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu played a significant role in advancing Islamic teachings, noting that his absence will be sorely felt, but his teachings will live on as guiding light.

The Governor also offered his sympathies to the Government and people of Kebbi State and the entire Muslim Ummah in Nigeria, praying Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and reward his good deeds with a place in Jannatul Firdaus as contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, ( Press Affairs), Government House, Gombe.
