Invincible creator Robert Kirkman has reaffirmed that his character Omni-Man could totally take Superman in a fight, and that The Boys’ closest analog, Homelander, doesn’t even stand a chance against either of them. The latest round of debate over which hero reigns supreme erupted at last weekend’s New York Comic Con, with Kirkman’s comments playfully adding fuel to the fire.
Speaking with Collider, Kirkman put it bluntly: “Superman sucks.” Of course, the author’s comments should be taken lightheartedly, as a form of stoking anticipation for Invincible Season 4.
Kirkman’s hyperbolic response is firmly tongue-in-cheek, but it’s also fair to say that he believes what he’s saying about the iconic characters’ power disparities.
