IPAC: Political Party Boycotting Elections Would Be an Exercise of Their Democratic Freedom — Morka

The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has responded to concerns raised by the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) over the recent amendment to the Electoral Act and the group’s reported threat to boycott future national elections. See What Happened.

Morka spoke during an interview on TVC News on Friday, March 13, 2026, addressing statements attributed to the leadership of IPAC regarding the legislative changes carried out by the National Assembly. He acknowledged awareness of IPAC’s concerns about the amendment.

Morka also addressed the issue of boycotting elections, noting that political parties have the democratic freedom to make such decisions if they choose.

However, he added that such a step would not be advisable for political parties with members and supporters committed to their objectives and political mission.

He further emphasized that political parties are expected to participate in elections as part of the democratic process.
