New Delhi.Lucknow Super Giants made a bang in this season of IPL 2023 by defeating Delhi Capitals. Lucknow’s batsmen and then the bowlers tore apart David Warner’s team. KL Rahul’s team won by 50 runs. The hero of the victory was Mark Wood, who took 5 wickets for 14 runs. Team’s mentor Gautam Gambhir also had a big hand in this big victory of Lucknow. Whose one move did wonders.
Gambhir did the trick for the last ball of the last over. Batting first, Lucknow scored 193 runs for 6 wickets. In the last over, Ayush Badoni hit 2 consecutive sixes on 2 balls of Chetan Sakaria, but he was dismissed on the very next ball. Badoni hit 18 runs in 7 balls. Lucknow had scored 187 runs in 19.5 overs.

Gautam came in place of Badoni
After 19.5 overs, Gambhir came up with a brilliant strategy and fielded Krishnappa Gautam as an impact player in place of Ayush Badoni. Gambhir’s decision gave Lucknow 6 runs on the last ball. Gautam hit a six on the last ball. Seeing this shot of his, everyone’s eyes were wide open.
wood did amazing
In response to the target given by Lucknow, the Delhi team was able to score only 143 runs in 20 overs. Wood returned to IPL after 5 years and gave Lucknow a big win in the very first match. His havoc-wreaking balls made Lucknow’s victory even more amazing.
