The Iranian missile offensive has slowed dramatically since the opening strike of the conflict, according to Alex Traiman, CEO of the Jerusalem News Service bureau. Watch This Now.
Speaking in a detailed briefing, Traiman explained that while Iran unleashed its largest ballistic missile salvo on day one, the current daily launch rate has fallen to approximately 30 missiles per day, a steep decline from its previous operational capacity.
Traiman said the front-loaded attack on day one reflected Iran’s military doctrine of shock and deterrence, but the ongoing reduction shows the systematic destruction of its offensive infrastructure. By comparison, in April and October 2024, Iran had launched nearly 100 ballistic missiles in a single day at Israel, with previous 12-day conflicts seeing a total of around 500 missiles fired.
Despite the reduced numbers, Traiman warned that each missile remains a serious threat. Many are equipped with cluster munitions capable of dispersing over 8–10 kilometers, which increases the risk to civilians. A recent strike on a Bedouin community in northern Israel injured 32 people, highlighting the ongoing danger even at reduced capacity.
He stressed that the current launch rate is far below Iran’s theoretical maximum. Over 1,000 targeted hits on missile production sites, launch infrastructure, and command networks have degraded the regime’s offensive capability, leaving a dangerous but limited missile force. Traiman argued that the decline provides clear evidence that the ongoing campaign is effectively weakening Iran’s ability to sustain high-volume attacks over time.
