Recall that Davido took a year break from the limelight following the loss of his son with his now wife, Chioma. The singer, made his comeback to the music industry, last year, with the release of his album, Timelines which had over a billion streams.

His album has brought the singer more recognition and made him a Grammy nominee, as the album bagged 3 nominations for Best Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Global Music Album at the 2024 Grammy.

Speaking on his nomination, Davido affirmed that delay wasn’t denial, especially since his contemporaries, Burna Boy and Wizkid have been recognized by the academy.

Also, a day in the US has been dedicated to him, after he shut down the city of Texas, Houston with his sold-out concert.

The Mayor of Houston had declared every July 7 ‘Davido’s Day’, as he commended him for his significant contributions to the music industry.
