The lawmaker representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, has rubbished reports claiming that he has plans to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to another party.
The Senator said mischief makers are the ones behind rumours of his planned defection.
Speaking through a statement by his Media Adviser, Emmanuel Eche’Ofun John, Senator Moro described the rumours as “ridiculous,” insisting that he held no discussions with anyone about leaving the PDP.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP, noting that despite the crisis rocking the party, he has no plans to defect to another party.
“Senator Moro finds the rumour ridiculous as there’s no discussion anywhere with anybody to that effect. The Senator, a founding member of PDP, remains fully committed to the ideals and values of the party, and will continue to remain with it,” the statement said.
Speaking on the crisis rocking the PDP, Moro exprssed confidence that the party’s internal conflict resolution mechanism would prevail and the PDP would emerge stronger.
He urged the public to disregard the defection rumour, describing it as the work of “mischief makers who are losing sleep over the capability of PDP to rise from the crises stronger and more competitive.”
