I’ve never collected a dime for promotions – Don Jazzy

Music executive Michael Ajereh, well known as Don Jazzy, has said he has never accepted payment to promote any project in the entertainment industry.

The Mavin Records founder made the statement after actor Ibrahim Yekini, popularly known as Itele, shared a video of himself and Don Jazzy promoting the upcoming film Black Market on Instagram on Tuesday.

Itele captioned the video, “No panic o.. Don Jazzy has been released. But the message still stands.

Reacting to ... on X, a fan wrote, “Don jazzy fit do anything for money.”

Don Jazzy responded by denying the claim, saying he does not charge for promotions.

He wrote, “Nobody in the entertainment space has ever paid me a dime for promo oooo. You think say i be Don for mouth. The Don’s blessings na free bro.”

Black Market is scheduled for release on September 26, 2026. Produced by Rixel Studios and directed by Fatimah Binta Gimsay, the film features Lateef Adedimeji, Linda Ejiofor Suleiman, Omowunmi Dada, Itele, Scarlet Gomez, Teniola Aladese, Susan Pwajok and Uzor Arukwe.

The producers have also announced plans to attempt a Guinness World Record for the largest audience at a single film screening during the premiere at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.
