The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has given candidates with unresolved admission offers from 2021 to 2025 more time to decide whether to accept or reject them.
The new deadline is November 30, 2026, allowing affected candidates additional time to update their admission status on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
JAMB announced the extension on Wednesday through a statement published on its official X handle.
The board advised candidates with outstanding offers to log into their CAPS profiles and indicate their decisions before the new deadline.
Candidates who accept their offers can proceed with the necessary admission documentation, including obtaining their admission letters.
However, JAMB warned that candidates who fail to respond before November 30 will lose the outstanding offers on its records.
“Any outstanding offer that remains neither accepted nor rejected after the deadline will revert to ‘Not Admitted’,” the board said.
JAMB also urged affected candidates not to wait until the final days before taking action, stressing the need to check their CAPS accounts early.
The latest extension replaces the September 30 deadline earlier announced by the board for candidates with admission offers dating from 2021.
JAMB had previously moved the deadline from August 31 to September 30, giving candidates more time to resolve their pending admission decisions.
The board had also clarified that candidates who had moved to another institution or changed their preferred programme could still accept an earlier offer before seeking the appropriate correction or deletion where necessary.
For candidates admitted in the 2026 admission exercise, JAMB said rejecting an earlier outstanding offer would not affect their current admission.
However, the board warned that any attempt to update an admission after the November 30 deadline would attract the applicable penalty fee.
JAMB therefore advised all affected candidates to access their CAPS accounts and complete the acceptance or rejection process before the deadline.
